The Missouri AHEC Scholars two-year program is designed to enhance and broaden your health training with a combination of didactic education and community-based field placement in a Missouri rural or underserved community. 

Program Benefits 

  • Expand your knowledge of the health challenges and contexts of rural and underserved populations in Missouri to help you become a better professional 
  • Build a professional network within a variety of health disciplines 
  • Gain competency in 8 core topics which help you prepare to work in health settings:  interprofessional education, behavioral health integration, community health work and supporting health professionals, telehealth, social determinants of health, cultural competence, practice transformation and current and emerging topics.   
  • Earn a $800 stipend over the course of your commitment (only for graduate level students)
